Today I did a few things. First, I tried downloading DVD Shrink, believbing it could come in handy in the future, especially after I got this little scare about DVD-Rs wearing out after several years. I don't know if it's 100% true or not, but I have taken good care of all the DVDs I made.
At the end, I deleted DVD Shrink, along with some other software I ended up downloading, because it wasn't what I expected, and I didn't know how to convert the videos into WMV files. Also, it altered the main search engine on Google Chrome. And I get uncomfortable with unexpected changes like that. I managed to get it back, by easily opening second window on Google Chrome.
Also, for the last year, I have been using Zamzar to download videos from YouTube. Once I download them, they couldn't playback, but I could use "Windows Movie Maker" to make a copy of the video that would playback. But during playback, the video freezes at a certain point and stays that way the rest of the video, ruining the whole thing.
I had a hunch, as I had my desktop since 2008, and my mum had her laptop a couple of years ago. I did an experiment. The videos can be copied properly on her laptop, so my theory was right.
That means I may not have much to worry about, when I get a new computer. The only problem is that the new one won't have the Windows Movie Maker I enjoy using. And when I do get a new computer, I might download some kind of software that's as good as Windows Movie Maker, knowing it exists somewhere.
