NOTE: This is my first MLP fanfic, so I apologise if any of the ponies appear out of character. And I hope I did a good job with my friends' characters that appear in this story. Also, I imagined this like an actual episode of the TV series, and it takes place after "Sweet and Elite" and before "Secret of My Excess".


PONYVILLE: THE LIBRARY: NIGHT TIME
Twilight Sparkle was looking through a book, while Spike was dusting the place.
SPIKE: 'Hey Twilight. What are you reading?'
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: 'I'm looking at this story book, I haven't read since I was a filly. I thought it was time I read it again.'
SPIKE: 'What's it about?'
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: 'It's about this pony who accidentally unleashed an evil demon into the world, and had to find a way to stop it. And she did by reasoning with him. And he willingly changed his ways when he made a friend.'
SPIKE: (sarcastically) 'Sounds interesting.'
All of a sudden, he belched out a scroll.
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: 'A message from Princess Celestia?'
Spike cleared his throat, and got ready to read the message.
SPIKE: 'My faithful student, Twilight Sparkle. I have some important news for you. Tomorrow, some ponies from out of town will be visiting Ponyville. I am putting my trust in you to make them feel welcome. I know you will do a good job.'
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: 'Ponyville's getting a visit from ponies? (Standing proudly) As Princess Celestia's faithful student, I'll make sure they are welcomed with open arms.'

MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC SEASON 2 INTRO

THE NEXT DAY IN PONYVILLE
The ponies were going about the business in Ponyville. Rarity was using her unicorn powers to hang up a banner saying "Welcome to Pony".
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: (to Rarity, while looking up at the sign) 'They couldn't fill it all in again?'
RARITY: 'This was all the fabric I had left. And the next order won't arrive until next week.'
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: 'It's okay. No big deal. It's not like it's a royal visit from the princess.'
PINKIE PIE: (popping up) 'I've got all the party supplies ready.'
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: 'Pinkie Pie. The ponies are just visiting Ponyville.'
PINKIE PIE: 'Who's ever heard of visitors with no party? Boring. I want their visit to be special.'
Applejack and Big Macintosh walked up to them, carrying a barrow full of apples.
APPLEJACK: 'Big Mac and I have brought some apples for the party, Pinkie Pie.'
BIG MACINTOSH: 'Eeyup.'
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: (giving in) 'Okay, ponies. We'll have a welcome party for the visiting ponies.'
PINKIE PIE: (bouncing happily) 'Yay!'
Rainbow Dash was flying in the sky, high above.
RAINBOW DASH: 'I'm looking forward to meeting our visitors. It's gonna be so awesome!'
She zoomed through the clouds, and crash landed on the ground in the outskirts of Ponyville.
MALE VOICE: 'Hi, err… Are you okay?'
RAINBOW DASH: (getting up, and standing proudly) 'I'm better than okay. I'm cool.'
She then noticed the pony in front of her. He was an orange unicorn, with a black mane and tail, a pencil cutie mark, brown eyes and wearing glasses.
RAINBOW DASH: 'Are you one of the visiting ponies?'
UNICORN: (nervously) 'Yes. My name is Artie.'
RAINBOW DASH: 'Nice to meet you, Artie. I'm Rainbow Dash.'
ARTIE: 'I heard about you. Didn't you create the Sonic Rainboom?'
RAINBOW DASH: 'You know it.'
She winked.
ARTIE: 'Awesome.'
RAINBOW DASH: 'Where are the other ponies?'
ARTIE: (looking behind him) 'Oh, I guess my magic powers only worked on me. I teleported somewhere ahead and I thought the others came here with me. They should be around somewhere.'

FLUTTERSHY'S HOME
Fluttershy was feeding her pet rabbit.
FLUTTERSHY: 'There you go. Eat it all up.'
There was a knock at the door, and Fluttershy answered it. At the door was Brighteyes, a pink Pegasus, with a purple mane and tail. She had a red heart cutie mark and blue eyes.
BRIGHTEYES: 'Hi, my name is Brighteyes.'
FLUTTERSHY: (nervously) 'I'm Fluttershy.'
BRIGHTEYES: 'It's nice to meet you, Fluttershy. I'm a visitor here, along with my friends.'
She stepped aside, revealing three more ponies. Two female Earth Ponies and a male Pegasus. Jenny, a grey pony with a black mane and tail. She had brown eyes and her cutie mark is three pink hearts. Her daughter Angel is a brown pony with a blonde mane and tail. Her cutie mark is a star with a microphone. Her eyes were the same colour as her mother's. And finally, Chris, a brown Pegasus with a brown/orange mane and tail. He also wore a blue vest, and had orange/yellow eyes. And his cutie mark was a flame.
BRIGHTEYES: 'This is Jenny, her daughter Angel, and our friend, Chris.'
Fluttershy got a bit scared, and closed the door, startling Brighteyes.
JENNY: 'I think we scared her.'
CHRIS: 'I'm sure she'll be out again. I mean seeing new faces isn't always a happy moment for someone.'
BRIGHTEYES: 'You're right there. Where did Artie go? He was with us a moment ago.'
ANGEL: 'I think he decided to use his powers and ended up somewhere else in Ponyville.'
JENNY: 'I wish my husband Snooper could make it. If he didn't have a case to solve back home.'
Dan, a light blue Earth pony walked up to them. His cutie mark was just two letters, C.K. He also had green eyes, and a brown mane and tail.
DAN: 'Hey guys.'
JENNY: 'Hi Dan.'
DAN: (pointing in the direction) 'There's a sign over there, saying "Welcome to Pony".'

A MOMENT LATER
The five visiting ponies were looking up at the sign.
BRIGHTEYES: 'I think it's supposed to say "Welcome to Ponyville", Dan.'
DAN: 'That's what I thought too.'
The ponies all popped up from nowhere, including Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy and Spike.
PONIES: 'Welcome to Ponyville!'
The visiting ponies were startled. Rainbow Dash made a fast touchdown from the sky, carrying a scared Artie.
RAINBOW DASH: 'We made it just in time. (Looks at Artie's scared face) Did my speed flying scare you?'
ARTIE: (calming down) 'Yeah, just a little.'
RAINBOW DASH: (placing her left hoof on Artie's shoulder) 'Sorry about that. (To the visiting ponies) So, who are you guys?'
JENNY: 'I'm Jenny and this is my daughter, Angel.'
ANGEL: 'Hello.'
BRIGHTEYES: 'I'm Brighteyes.'
CHRIS: 'My name is Chris.'
DAN: 'And I'm Dan.'
They all turned to look at Artie.
ARTIE: 'My name is Artie.'
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: 'Hi everyone. My name is Twilight Sparkle. And these are my friends, Applejack, Rarity, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash.'
SPIKE: 'And I'm Spike.'
BRIGHTEYES: 'It's nice to meet you all.'
DAN: (to Rainbow Dash) 'Hi Rainbow Dash. I'm a big fan of yours.'
The Cutie Mark Crusaders walked up to Dan.
SCOOTALOO: (walking up to Dan) 'I'm a big fan of Rainbow Dash too. I'm Scootaloo. And these are my friends, Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle.'

A MINUTE LATER
The ponies were all walking along together.
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: 'So, what are your special talents?'
JENNY: 'My husband and I are detectives.'
ANGEL: 'I like to box. I like to act, and I like to sing.'
CHRIS: 'I like to do pony martial arts.'
RAINBOW DASH: 'Wow. Maybe we can spar some day.'
BRIGHTEYES: 'I love to fly.'
FLUTTERSHY: 'Me too.'
APPLEJACK: (to Artie) 'What about you, Artie? I noticed your cutie mark is a pencil.'
ARTIE: 'I love to draw cartoon characters. And then I'd use my unicorn powers to bring them to life, for entertainment, and company. Then I'd change them back.'
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: 'Why would you wanna bring cartoon characters to life for company?'
ARTIE: 'Because, until I met Brighteyes, Dan and the other ponies here, I hardly had any close friends to talk with.'
RARITY: 'You hardly had any friends?'
Rarity fainted dramatically.
ARTIE: 'Besides, I've stopped bringing my drawings to life. Ever since I brought this one drawing to life, and was unable to change it back.'
APPLEJACK: 'Then that means your drawing is still out there somewhere.'
ARTIE: 'That's right.'
Rarity fainted dramatically again.
APPLEJACK: (to Rarity) 'Would y'all please stop doing that.'
ARTIE: 'And as he's still out there, there's no telling what he'll do.'

SOMEWHERE NEAR PONYVILLE
A red unicorn with dragon wings showed up. He had a red spiky mane and tail. Purple eyes, and an odd cutie mark. It was two orange fox tails and a red fox tail forming a heart, with a yellow bow nestled on top in the middle. He stared at Ponyville from a distance.
RED UNICORN: 'I know you're in that town, cartoonist. After travelling around Equestria, the time has finally come.'

PONYVILLE: SOMETIME LATER
Brighteyes was flying happily in the sky, with Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash. Angel and Chris showed off their boxing and martial arts skills, on a couple of dead trees. Artie did a drawing of the six main ponies and gave it to Twilight Sparkle.
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: 'This is pretty good. Thanks, Artie.'
ARITE: 'You're welcome.'
RARITY: 'Dan, I couldn't help but notice your cutie mark is two letters. Why?'
DAN: 'Well, I love cartoons. So I'm guessing it stands for Cartoon King. I always thought of myself as a Cartoon King.'
A number of ponies ran past them, including Rose, Doctor Whooves and Derpy Hooves.
ROSE: (running past) 'The horror! The horror!'
ANGEL: 'What's going on?'
APPLEJACK: 'I think we're all about to find out, Sugar Cube.'
The evil looking unicorn/dragon flew towards them. Artie gasped when he saw him.
RED UNICORN: 'I am Razor the Crimson Pegasus! Give me what I want, and I will spare this town!'
He breathed fire and torched a tree.
PINKIE PIE: 'Run!'
The ponies ran for it.
RAZOR: 'You've got ten minutes, cartoonist!'

THE LIBRARY
The main ponies and the visiting ponies all rushed inside, and closed the door behind them.
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: 'An evil monster s attacking Ponyville.'
ARTIE: 'It's worst than that.'
TWILIGHT: 'You know him…? (Gasps). Is he that creation of yours you couldn't change back?'
ARTIE: 'I'm afraid so. I drew Razor about six months ago. I tried changing him back, but nothing happened. Then he said he was gonna explore Equestria. I was afraid he was gonna destroy everything, so I gave up on bringing my creations to life. I've been feeling guilty about it ever since.'
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: 'I'm sorry for your crushed dreams. But if Razor was as dangerous as you said, Princess Celestia would have said something ages ago. And Equestria is still in one piece. Maybe he really was exploring like you said he said.'
The whole place shook.
RAINBOW DASH: 'But he is attacking Ponyville. I'm going out there to stop him!'
APPLEJACK: 'Wait!'

OUTSIDE
Rainbow Dash leaped out, and confronted Razor.
RAINBOW DASH: 'Hey! What's your problem? I'll tell you what your problem is! You've never faced me before!'
She zoomed up to Razor and back kicked him down.
RAZOR: (getting up, looking mad) 'You are not the cartoonist! I WANT THE CARTOONIST! Surrender him to me, or this whole town gets burnt!'
RAINBOW DASH: (nervously) 'O-kay.'
She zoomed back into the library.

INSIDE
RAINBOW DASH: (to Artie) 'I think he wants you, Artie.'
ARTIE: 'Oh no. Maybe he wants to get rid of me. But I hope he doesn't.'
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: 'Hold on everypony. We still have the Elements of Harmony.'
APPLEJACK: 'Yeah. We can use them all to rustle this evil pony.'
CHRIS: 'I heard of the Elements. You ponies used them recently to stop Discord.'
PINKIE PIE: 'That's right.'
CHRIS: 'I've got a plan. First, we'll let Artie reason with this pony. And if that doesn't work, you ponies can use the Elements of Harmony to stop him. I don't think he really wants to destroy us. He's after Artie, right? The one who created him. Maybe Artie can make him change.'
Twilight Sparkle gasped, remembering something.
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: 'This is just like the book I was reading last night. The Pony who unleashed an evil demon, and she convinced him to change his ways. And he did when he made a friend. The friend was the pony who created him in the first place.'
ARTIE: 'Then I'll talk to him, but I'm afraid to face him.'
APPLEJACK: 'Well I'll be darned, Artie. You're just like Fluttershy when she was scared of that fire breathing dragon.'
SPIKE: 'That reminds me. I noticed this Razor has dragon wings.'
ARTIE: 'Well, when I drew Razor, I imagined him as a cross between a dragon and a unicorn.'
SPIKE: (thinking to himself) 'Just like me and Rarity.'
ARTIE: 'But the idea was inspired by two foxes in my favourite comic book series.'
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: 'Well, he's your creation, and you may be the one who can stop him, Artie. We've all got your back if it gets any worse.'
ARTIE: 'Thanks.'

OUTSIDE
Razor was facing the library building.
RAZOR: 'Get out here now, Cartoonist, or I'll huff and I'll puff, and I'll burn the house down!'
The door opened, and Artie stepped out.
ARTIE: 'I'm here, Razor.'
RAZOR: 'It's about time. I spent six months travelling around Equestria. Now I want you to change me back to my two-dimensional self.'
ARTIE: 'Please don't destroy me. Maybe we can work this out… (realises what Razor said) What? You want to go back to 2-D again?'
RAZOR: 'Yes. As I've had enough with this 3-D world.'
ARTIE: 'But I tried to do that, and it didn't work.'
RAZOR: 'That's because I used my powers to prevent it. Did it ever occur to you that even your creations can be born with feelings? Imagine how your creations felt, when you gave them life, but only for your own personal gain? Didn't you think to even ask them how they felt? That's why I did what I did. I wanted to explore and meet ponies, but you kept your drawings on a leash! Well, what do you have to say for yourself?'
As Razor talked, Artie understood why Razor rebelled.
ARTIE: 'I… I didn't realise that my creations were as alive as a real pony. So that's why my creations were a bit grouchy after bringing them to life and changing them back. I'm so sorry.'
RAZOR: (smiling) 'Apology accepted. I'm glad you understand now. I have seen all I wanted to see, and I am ready to return to the two dimensional world.'
ARTIE: 'Before I send you back, I have something else I should say.'
RAZOR: 'Go on.'
ARTIE: 'When I couldn't send you back, I realised that I might one day create something that not only wants to stay out, but can also be a dangerous threat. Maybe, I should stop bringing my characters to life, and instead, I'll use my magic to animate my characters on paper instead. They can still interact in the two-dimensional world, but can't be set free in the real world. I think I got a little carried away with that.'
RAZOR: 'Your new idea sounds even better. And if you were to animate me, be sure to draw some interesting fantasy places for me to explore.'
ARTIE: 'I'll do that.'
RAZOR: 'Now, I am ready to go. Please, do the honours. And I am also sorry for threatening this town, just to get you to come outside.'
ARTIE: 'I'm sure the ponies will forgive you, as I have.'
Razor smiled, then Artie's horn magically glowed, and magically transformed Razor back into a picture on a sheet of paper. Artie captured the picture with his front right hoof. The other ponies ran out cheering.
BRIGHTEYES: 'You did it, Artie.'
ARTIE: 'Thanks, Brighteyes. I'm happy I have friends like you.'
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: 'And we're happy to have made some new friends. Hope you can stay in Ponyville for a while longer.'
JENNY: 'We'd love that.'
CHRIS: 'Yeah.'
DAN: 'Me too. I wanna get to know you more, Rainbow Dash.'
RAINBOW DASH: 'Um, sure.'
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: (to Artie) 'It looks like you've learnt a lesson today, Artie. Would you like to write a friendship report to Princess Celestia?'
ARTIE: 'Really? To the princess? That would be great.'
SPIKE: (arriving with a quill and a scroll) 'I'm ready.'
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: 'I have a better idea. How would all you visiting ponies like to write to the princess, and tell her how much fun you had in Ponyville?'
BRIGHTEYES: 'I'd be honoured.'
DAN: 'Me too.'
JENNY: (giggling) 'Me three.'
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: 'Okay, take it away, Artie.'
ARTIE: 'Dear Princess Celestia. My name is Artie. I have learnt an important lesson today, when it comes to using my magic to bring my cartoon characters to life. I hadn't realised I actually upset my characters by giving limited time in the real world, and I am really sorry about that. It was all thanks to the wisdom of my character, Razor, as well as Twilight Sparkle and her friends, that made me realise my mistake. I am very happy I got to make some new friends today.'
BRIGHTEYES: 'Dear Princess Celestia. I'm Brighteyes, and I have made some good friends here in Ponyville, especially Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash.'
DAN: 'Dear Princess Celestia. My name is Dan. I was so excited when I actually got to meet Rainbow Dash. And I was also excited when Apple Bloom told me they have a bowling alley in Ponyville.'
CHRIS: 'Dear Princess Celestia. I am Chris. I'm glad I got to make some new friends like Applejack and Rainbow Dash.'
JENNY: 'Dear Princess Celestia. I'm Jenny. Angel and I enjoyed it in Ponyville. We got to meet some new friends like Pinkie Pie and Rarity.'
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: 'Dear Princess Celestia, your faithful Student, Twilight Sparkle, wrapping up this long message, wanting to say that all the visitors had a good time in Ponyville today.'
SPIKE: (exhausted) 'Is that all of it? I think I'm getting a cramp from all the writing.'
TWILIGHT SPARKLE: 'That's all of it, Spike.'
SPIKE: 'Finally.'
Spike sent the scroll to Princess Celestia.

CANTERLOT CASTLE
Princess Celestia received the scroll, and started reading it. Princess Luna walked up to her, and read the scroll with her.
LUNA: 'The visiting ponies sent messages to you and not me?'
CELESTIA: (smiling cheerfully) 'Calm down, Luna. You don't wanna turn into Nightmare Moon again, do you?'
LUNA: 'No, of course not.'
Another scroll appeared, and Celestia and Luna took a look at it.
TWILIGHT SPARKLE'S VOICE: 'P.S. Tell Princess Luna that Artie and the other visiting ponies said to say "Hi". Your faithful student, Twilight Sparkle.'
Celestia and Luna smiled as they read the scroll.

BACK OUTSIDE THE LIBRARY
The ponies were all still there.
PINKIE PIE: 'Hey, you know something? We didn't get a chance to throw the visiting party today.'
FLUTTERSHY: 'You're right.'
RAINBOW DASH: 'Last one to the party is a slow horse.'
She zoomed off, and the other ponies giggled and followed her.
